With a love for music deeply rooted in gospel traditions; it could be said that Tonnic's journey was predetermined.  

 Born in London to Jamaican parents, music   was a great influence and brought out the natural entertainer within this performer. The essence of ‘who is Tonnic', is her spontaneity; this sets her apart from other singers and identifies her as an exceptional vocal talent. Essentially, 'Tonnic' is the ability to hear and feel a melody, to interpret it; to perform original songs, and to improvise all genders of popular music.

 

 The late 1990's heralded the explosive launch of Tonnic onto the UK's club scene. A debut performance at the prestigious venue Turn mills for the Iconic Club Brand: Trade, had secured her one of many residencies in the capital. Working with DJ's, singing live improvised vocals over their mixes; she delivered a contagious personal style full of energy and vibe. The London club scene embraced her vocal style. It was during this time that the world of the elite DJ was experiencing a new dimension in Dance Music, which bought about a new interface between the DJ's, clubbers and the music. Tonnic forged a path as an entertainer, and soon gained a reputation as one of club lands premier vocalist. This beginning signalled Tonnic’s arrival, she retains a place among her peers as one of the most sought after club vocalist both in the UK and Internationally.

 

 

Her performances and professionalism exudes a persona that is extrovert and assertive, and a personality that is confident, approachable and warm.

There is just no escaping the passion that is felt within her voice, every song is delivered with emotional resonance, she captivates and mesmerises her audience. Tonnic is a competent song writer; collaborating with DJ/ producers on studio projects. Her sound is instantly recognisable, re working the 70s classic 'STOMP' by The Brothers Johnson - Independent label: Schlepp Records. Further productions and releases  that followed include: 'Be Right Here'- Go Deep records, ' I  Love What You Do'- Toolbox House,  'Salvation'-After 6 Ft. Tonnic Blue Dove / Toolbox House, ' Never Too Late' ft. DJ Gordon Edge/Edge Records, 'I want You'-Toolbox House.

 

 

Tonnic's love of music has seen her travel to many European and International destinations, where she has  enjoyed several  memorable highlights. A significant  performance in Johannesburg; South Africa, soon after Nelson Mandela's  newly appointed  presidential  leadership, was an   inspiring experience. The 'Pulse Party ' Event saw the ethnic mix of black, white and mixed race South African party goers altogether, packed into a five thousand capacity venue, responding to and enjoying her performance: united in Music.

 

Other accolades include her performance at the BBC Radio 1 'LOVE PARADE', alongside UK DJ's Pete Tong and Sasha and club brand: Trade. This  festival  was the first ever for the UK, and unique in that it ran simultaneously with  other 'Love Parade' events in other parts of Europe , making it one of  Europe’s largest single free Music festivals of its kind. Brazil was another musical highlight that saw Tonnic Perform for the Party brand KALI  NATO to a carnival crowd estimated at over one million (1,000,000)people!                                                                           

Tonnic is a versatile artist that has secured her 'TOTALTONNIC' tour in Indonesia taking in such venues a Deja Club - kata Bali, A2- Jakarta, Circuit Asia Manila (Philippines). She has extensive live PA's  with Narcotic Thrust ( I like It / Safe from Harm), and Lisa Marie Experience( Keep on Jumping). Also, 'Diva Explosion'  PA's with Dance music's premier recording artist: Cece Penistone, Jocelyn Brown,  and Adeva. Tonnic has appeared at many festivals: London Pride, Face Party- London, Brighton Pride, Rome Pride, Belgium Pride to name a few. Also at many iconic club venues such as, Space- Madrid, Club Paradiso- Mykonos; Pacha Lounge -Russia, Privilege Ibiza and many others. Her work has received positive support and recognition amongst accredited DJ's, promoting her work through their club mix sets over the years.
